Break Through The Enemy Lines
Realizing that the children I heard screaming in that little cemetery just outside Nashville were children here in America was shocking. I had to ask myself why I didn’t know anything about this murder that had been going on in my country for nine years! I had never heard anything mentioned from the pulpits of the churches I had attended. That, in itself, was astonishing! Why were the pastors not talking about this? Why was the body of Christ so aloof and silent? I stood without excuse. We all did! I couldn’t blame anyone else; I should have known! After all, It wasn’t a secret. The death sentence on children was handed down on January 22, 1973. All of America should have been outraged, but apparently all of America was not!
A a young mother, I was very taken up with my own family and my own responsibilities. We were working hard trying to make a living, and we had our plates full. We didn’t pay a lot of attention to the news back then. We had just been through Vietnam, and that had been a losing battle. We were all hoping for a season of peace. As young Christians, we were very involved in learning about how to best live our lives to honor the Lord. We weren’t selfish and uncaring; we were caught up in living. Meanwhile, children were dying by the thousands every day. How I lived so oblivious to all of this for so many years I just don’t know, but not knowing did not make me less accountable. It was happening all around me, and I should have known!
Proverbs 24:11-12 says, “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering towards slaughter. If you say , ‘But we knew nothing about this,’ does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who guards you life know it? Will He not repay each person according to what he has done?”
God put a supernatural calling on my life in 1982. The way He called me is certainly not how He calls many. He lined up every person strategically. He put me in just the right place at the right time, so His will would be accomplished. It is His will for all of us to be His light. We are to light this dark world! Listen for His voice. When you feel that gentle prompting…pray and ask, “ Is that you, Lord? If it is His voice it will line up with His word.
We can’t talk 24 hours a day about abortion or anything else that is close to God’s heart. We simply live the life. We follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit, and we speak up as He opens the doors. We share as often as we can about His heart when it comes to protecting the lives of the children. Most importantly, we pray. We pray for an end of this madness; we pray for godly people to be put in high places of government. We vote for life and for all of His principles. Being angry all the time gets us nowhere. We are called to love. That is the only way to break through the enemy lines
“Dear Friends,, let us love one another; for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:7-8)
Don't forget to put your armor on!
